Privacy policy
This explains what happens to your information when you use Roman Roads Map. We have tried to keep it short and honest. It is not legal advice.
Who is responsible
Chris Barnes, a sole trader (England and Wales) is the "data controller" under UK GDPR. Contact: hello@romanroadsmap.com.
Just looking at the map
You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name to use the map. The map runs in your browser. If you press "Near me", your browser asks for permission and works out your location on your device to centre the map; we do not receive or store it.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics (when switched on) to count visits and see which pages are popular. It does not use cookies and does not track you across websites.
Advertising
The site may show adverts in future. If it does, we will update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Other services
Our pages are hosted on Cloudflare, and map data files are served from Cloudflare R2. Like any web host, they see your IP address and basic request details when you load the page, for security and delivery. Map tiles and data are loaded from our own servers, not from Google or Mapbox.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or have it moved. To do any of these, email hello@romanroadsmap.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change how we use your data we will update this page.
